JON HARE – co-founder and co-director of the UK’s Sensible Software, Jon has nearly 30 years of experience directing, designing and producing more than 60 games – including 10 No. 1 titles, from C64 Wizball to the 16-bit Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder, and most recently Speedball 2 Evolution on iOS. He is now co-founder of the Business and University Games Syndicate, BUGSnet.org – a network of games companies and university courses that connects 30% of UK games students to 35% of available graduate level jobs in the UK.
NICOLA AND ANTHONY CAULFIELD raised £60,550 on Kickstarter and more than $37,000 on Indiegogo to fund ‘From Bedrooms to Billions’, their 150-minute feature-length documentary telling the remarkable, true story of the British video games industry from 1979 to the present. Released in October as a digital download, DVD or Blu-ray, and featuring in-depth interviews with Elite’s David Braben, 22Cans’ Peter Molyneux, Games Workshop’s Ian Livingstone, Llamasoft’s Jeff Minter and – of course – Jon Hare, the film showcases today’s UK industry and the achievements of its golden era, with the goal of inspiring a new wave of UK talent. http://www.frombedroomstobillions.com/
